WYM Group would like to wish all our clients a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year as we look ahead to 2022 on the back of a successful year of growth and development for our business.
As a business trusted by yacht owners for more than 25 years, we have always prided ourselves on being the cogs working away in the background of a glamorous industry to ensure smooth sailing for our clients.
This year we’ve also enjoyed some time in the spotlight ourselves due to our involvement with the Extreme E world racing series and our management of the St Helena.
Allan Wilson, Managing Director of WYM Group, said: “It has been another challenging year in the superyacht industry but it was particularly pleasing for our team to be able to attend both the Monaco Yacht Show in October and the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in November, which each returned this year.
“Each event demonstrated that there has been no lack of activity across the superyacht industry and that it remains buoyant despite the issues and restrictions faced by all over the past two years.
“We have been pleased to continue supporting our clients by helping them navigate safely from destination to destination.
“It has been more important than ever to stay constantly up-to-date with the changing restrictions and regulations of individual countries and flag states with regards to travel and quarantine, and of course to ensure onboard protocols are followed to minimise the risk of infection.
“Throughout the year our team have provided a constant sounding board for owners and captains and it has been this constant communication and support which has allowed the mega yachts we manage to continue with many successful charters.
“Clients have said to us that they have peace of mind knowing we are ensuring all is as it needs to be, and that is feedback we are proud of, especially in times like we have all been through recently.”
Extreme E announces second season as WYM Group continues management of St Helena
WYM Group has been in the spotlight throughout 2021 thanks to its management of St Helena, the former Island of St Helena Royal Mail ship which has acted as the floating hub of the new world-wide Extreme E electric rally car racing series.
That series was brought to a successful conclusion in Dorset earlier this month, and plans are already being made for 2022.
“It has been wonderful to be part of Extreme E as it has enjoyed a highly successful first season,” Mr Wilson added.
“It is a high profile series, which has brought national television and media exposure for our business.
“Essentially our work for Extreme E is replicated across all of our clients in that we are the behind the scenes team ensuring successful worldwide sailing for vessels, their owners, captains and crews.”
WYM Group will be ready and willing to support owners, captains and crews to overcome any challenges, meet all new regulations, and plan charters in 2022.
